چکیده

We propose a novel approach for deening and querying a super-peer within a schema-based super-peer network organized into a two-level architecture: the low level, called the peer level (which contains a mediator node), the second one, called super-peer level (which integrates mediators peers with similar content). We focus on a single super-peer and propose a method to deene and solve a query, fully implemented in the SEWASIE project prototype. The problem we faced is relevant as a super-peer is a two-level data integrated system, then we are going beyond traditional setting in data integration. We have two diierent levels of Global as View mappings: the rst mapping is at the super-peer level and maps several Global Virtual Views (GVVs) of peers into the GVV of the super-peer; the second mapping is within a peer and maps the data sources into the GVV of the peer. Moreover, we propose an approach where the integration designer, supported by a graphical interface, can implicitly deene mappings by using Resolution Functions to solve data connicts, and the Full Disjunc-tion operator that has been recognized as providing a natural semantics for data merging queries.

Querying Distributed Data in a Super-Peer Based Architecture

Data integration is a significant challenge: relevant data objects are split across multiple information sources, and often owned by different organizations. The sources represent, maintain, and export the information using a variety of formats, interfaces and semantics. This paper addresses the issue of querying distributed data in a large scale context. We present a p2p information mediation ...

Routing and Clustering in Schema-Based Super Peer Networks

Peer-to-Peer networks have evolved from simple approaches like Napster (using a central index) and Gnutella (using simple broadcasting of queries) to more sophisticated approaches using distributed indices like DHTs [7], [9] or super peer networks [10]. These systems which allow to describe content with metadata assume homogeneous content/metadata; metadata schemas are fixed in advance for all ...

Semantics-enabled Policies for Super-Peer Data Integration and Protection

Extending from the previous semantic privacy-preserving model, we propose a widescale super-peer data integration and protection architecture. Any user from a superpeer domain can contribute new data, schema, or even mappings for other super-peer domains to integrate the information. Each super-peer domain is essentially a mediatorbased data integration system, where an agent at the super-peer ...

RDF-based Peer-to-Peer-Networks for Distributed (Learning) Repositories

Metadata for the World Wide Web are important, but metadata for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks are absolutely crucial. In this paper we discuss the open source project Edutella, which combines semantic web and peer-to-peer technologies in order to make distributed learning repositories possible and useful. We describe the main services of the Edutella network infrastructure and its architecture ba...
